Some people say that lyric video production is an easy thing. “This one may be done even by a kid!” they think about some lyric video samples, which look pretty easy. Yes, there are hundreds of thousands of different lyric videos on youtube, and may be it’s possible to say this about some of them with really amateur looks.
But mostly, it’s a huge delusion. Usually, I hear this from those, who had never tried to make a lyric video by themselves. But everything has it’s lovers and haters, that’s all right. I’ll explain now why lyric video production is not as simple as it seems.
So, you think that you will make a lyric video for ~15 minutes, ’cause this is so easy and you don’t need a “PRO” image! Let’s take a closer look at it.
Even despite the fact that some clips look simple – every video needs a lot of hours to spend. There is a big quantity of words for almost every song. While every single word – is a separate element, which requires animation work. And the more such elements we have, the more complex and difficult your work will be.
And this is not the end. When you’ve got your lyric video project done – you have to render it. I’m pretty sure that if it’s your first experience in lyric video making you will spend some time with it. While rendering questions aren’t rather easy for a novice. Besides render settings you will be badly surprised with how long will it take. Turnaround time may be as 1 hour and even 8, 12, 20 or 30 hours, depending on what did you add to your video. Render speed fully depends on PC power, if you don’t have lyric video studio powers – it may be not too fast. And finally, if you’d like to change something in your video – welcome to rerendering.
Also, besides lyrics there is another not less important part in lyric video production – backgrounds. You have to think about it, create and prepare for the following usage in a lyric video, link scenes with words. Additionally during the production, it’s good to make some color grading stuff for getting a single look for everything.
